Tree Removal, Felling and Dismantling
We undertake tree removal, tree felling and sectional dismantling for a wide range of sites and situations. Where access allows, our range of MEWPs enables us to dismantle trees safely and efficiently from height. Where MEWP access is not possible, our experienced climbing teams are proficient in the use of rigging and lowering equipment. This allows us to carefully dismantle trees in confined, sensitive or difficult locations, helping to protect nearby buildings, roads, gardens, boundaries and other site features.
Crane hire can also be arranged where required for larger or more complex tree removal projects.
Tree Pruning and Crown Management
Careful pruning can improve the safety, shape, health and long-term management of a tree. Our arborists can advise on the most appropriate pruning method for the tree, the site and the desired outcome.
Crown reduction involves reducing the overall size of the tree by shortening selected branches evenly throughout the crown. This is usually specified by the amount of branch length to be removed.
Crown thinning is the selective removal of internal branches throughout the canopy to reduce crown density and wind resistance while retaining the tree’s natural shape. This is usually specified as a percentage of leaf coverage removed.
Crown raising involves removing or shortening lower branches to increase clearance beneath the canopy. This can improve access, visibility or clearance over paths, roads, gardens and buildings, and is usually specified to a set height above ground level.
Dead wooding involves removing dead branches, mainly for safety reasons where falling limbs could cause damage to people, property or vehicles. Dead wood may also be removed to improve the appearance of a tree.
Stump Removal
We provide stump removal using tracked stump grinding equipment, allowing us to access and remove stumps in a wide range of locations. Where appropriate, excavators can also be used to remove larger or more difficult stumps.
Tree Bracing
Tree bracing can provide additional support for weak, damaged or vulnerable trunks and branches. This can help reduce the risk of branch or limb failure and may be suitable where retaining the tree is preferable to removal.
Hedge Trimming and Hedge Laying
Regular hedge trimming keeps hedges tidy, healthy and under control. Annual maintenance can help preserve the shape and size of a hedge while keeping gardens, boundaries and sites looking well managed.
Where a hedge has become overgrown or needs significant reduction, we can offer advice on the best approach. Some hedges respond better to phased reduction or traditional management methods rather than heavy cutting in one stage.
We also offer hedge laying, a traditional technique that involves partially cutting and bending stems near ground level to encourage new growth from the base. This can create a strong, living boundary that is both practical and wildlife-friendly.
Tree Planting
We carry out tree planting for domestic, commercial and land management projects. Our team can advise on suitable species, locations and aftercare to help new trees establish successfully.
Chipping and Wood Processing
We operate a wide range of woodchippers to suit different site requirements, including larger specialist machinery such as bog chippers and Bandit chippers. This allows us to process brash, branches and timber efficiently on site.
Ground and Site Clearance
Lampeter Tree Services offers a complete ground and site clearance service for domestic, commercial, agricultural, forestry and development sites. Using specialist machinery such as excavators with grabs, biomass trailers, timber trailers and flails, we can clear vegetation and timber efficiently while keeping the site organised and manageable.
